'lighthouse on the horizion' recording update

hey folks,

just wanted to make you aware how the new lighthouse on the horizon record is coming along. going into this i said i would make 30 jams, and work on the best ones for the record, that number has been bumped to 31, as i recorded possibly the best track ive ever written and decided to take it out of contention for the record.

im more then half way through the demo process for this record, its getting to the point where i probably have as many songs started with one or two lines as i can possibly have at this time (i have three of them, its really cool to see how the writing evolves from the lines of intent that start these tunes lately.)

its really fun making all the music myself, as i am in control over how the concept ends up.

new songs will come when they come, enjoy what i have up right now, i might even throw up a new song in the next few days.

september newsletter

its now almost the end of september, and we are getting ready to drop some crazy jams on all of you.

i am 12 tracks into the lighthouse demos, and will have big news once i start the real recording process, im just recording demos right now, theres going to be some big news related to this project in november, so look out for it. you can visit the official lighthouse webpage at http://www.virb.com/lighthouseonthehorizon, also you can add the project on both facebook and myspace

november 1st marks the physical release of sometimes the underdog wins, and i must admit im soo pumped for it, the record is really good, and i think you will all dig how its being released. Ill be sending out that information in october, so be prepared.

also, i am finding my email associated with my domain to be highly unstable, so i will be switching the mailing list to a gmail account. for future reference i will be mailing out the email list from dunivanmusic@gmail.com, please add this address to your safelists and what not. i will be changing this address over on the website, and this will serve as the primary means of contact from now on.

november will also bring about the release of the rastones record, its gonna be called 'rastones alive'. this is going to have like 14 tracks on it, including the complete last practice. this record will be released online and all proceeds will be donated to southwest florida addiction services.

the first song written for the lighthouse on the horizon project is making waves on the new waffles playlist. the tune is called 'the bond of vincent and theo', its about vincent van gogh, and it is a demo.

august newsletter

hey,

the past few months have been really crazy in the musical world and is the reason for a lack of a july newsletter. many apologies about that, from time to time i hit up my website with the goings on when i cant send out a newsletter, as i dont want to clog up your email box

july started with some mastering for the rastones record im going to put out, its going to be free, and will feature our last ever prac, from 12/08/06. that band ended with the death of my best friend mike hurst, and this record is being put out in memory to his legacy. ill have the tracklisting for that, as well as who played what and all that jazz around november.

i also have finalized the track listing in regards to the physical release of sometimes the underdog wins. its going to be a double release with a remastered version of liveadaptevolverepeat, the first 12 tracks (yes! 1 unreleased track called the morning interlude is going on the cd). speaking of which, theres like two copies left at cdbaby, so ive put them on sale for 5 bucks. you can pick up a digital copy of that record as well for 4 i think.

speaking of music and downloading, you can get five free bucks over at amie street by following this link, which is more then enough to download the dunivan + the myndliss crew tracks for free here.

i started recording on two projects very near and dear to my heart, my much beloved duo the chillhoons has like six songs wrote, and im fucking stoked! that record is going to be so much fun, we did a record in 04, but the recordings were really bad, after like 20 songs, i have one from that era that i can stand. i also started recording what is going to become the new lighthouse on the horizon record, and i am really pumped about those tunes. one of the songs from that called "the bond of vincent and theo" is going to be released on an upcoming waffles comp.

im working on a few endorsements, and have finalized agreements with dunlop picks and knucklehead strings, and i will be lending my words their way for promotions, so if you see me in a magazine, thats whats up.

playin for broke volume two is going to be released digitally on my birthday (august 25th) on amie street, as well as on soundclick, so ill have that tracklisting up on the website soon.

other then that im just recording, plucking, and doin the school thing.
